The things I LOVE and the things I LONG for...

Well, I am now 17 weeks and feel like I am fully adjusting to Preggo Life. Wait, don't get me wrong here, I am completely aware this 40 week roller coaster is just getting its speed and momentum going and that MANY things will continue to change, as this journey is an ever-evolving process. But, as for today...I am pretty keen on pregnancy...ahem, the 2nd trimester, that is. Pretty much weeks 1-4 were ignorant bliss, I could have done without weeks 5-10 (ick.ick.ick.) and 11-17 have been as smooth as butta.

We went yesterday for our monthly check-in and things were great!!! Baby's heartrate was strong and the heartbeat was quickly and easily detected...a huge thank you to God, since at my 13 week visit they couldn't find it (normal, i know, but scary nonetheless) and had to usher me into the sono tech room. This time our little one was trucking right along, right when she put the doppler on my belly. No hiding this time!

Alas, I delve into some new-found items of importance...tastebud changes/cravings and longings, of course!

Let's start with the LONGINGS, shall we?

In no particular order...

Sushi (bring on the spicy tuna roll!)

A good glass of wine after a long day

Pounding the pavement to relieve stress

A nice, cold, adult beverage enjoyed with my man as we re-hash our days

Blue cheese, goat cheese, brie, etc...Why is it that I love unpasteurized cheeses the most?!?!

But, miss as I may, the above stated things, I have found there to be FAR more things I am L.O.V.I.N.G.

First and foremost, my OB, Dr. W. She is the bees knees. She is so down to earth, not overly freakish and a mom herself to 3 kiddos ( 2 of whom are twins less than a year old). She is so easy to just chat with, shoot the breeze, ask neurotic questions of, and all the while...I feel like she is really hearing me and not letting my imagination get the best of me. I just think the world of her.

Sandwiches, sandwiches and more sandwiches. Heavy on the mustard and pickles, of course.

Now that I am sans-coffee (gasp, i know. it just doesn't taste good to me), my friend heather has introduced me to and hence gotten me hooked on Earl Grey lattes from Starbucks. I am a huge fan since the tea has less caffeine than a regular cup 'o joe.

Taco Bell. Prior to this baby, I can honestly say the last time I ate Taco Bell was probably in highschool. This is by far the most random craving of all. Give me either a monster taco (love me some spice) or a good plain bean burrito.

Treadmill accompanied by HGTV, since I am taking a break from running (just a personal decision, not necessary, I know). We switched gyms and now go to Anytime Fitness and love that its not a meat market, seeing as how being a preggo and in spandex, the less peeps I have to see the better...for them and for me, he! he!

Sourpatch Kids. They fall into the "anything sour, salty, or spicy" category that seems to be all I look for when making my meal/food selections. Yum, yum!

The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. Hands down, this my favorite read so far! I have been reading through a number of books and this one is right up my alley. Thank you Heather for loaning it to me! This gal's depiction/recollection of pregnancy and all that comes with it is just my style. Her honest, not overly fussy/fanatical, just plain shoot you straight kinda' writing is great!

Chick-fil-a Lemonade. Love it. Gulp it. Crave it. Writing this makes me crave one now.

Okay, so this post might have been the most boring thing ever to anyone reading. But, I want to remember all of these random facts. I know there are a ton more things I am not thinking of that I love, loathe and long for. But, this post has gone long enough already.

Next post might include a belly update (much to my husband's chagrin, since he thinks my bare belly should not be on the world wide web for all to see).

I am also SO tardy in updating on the house status. Coming soon...

oh gosh. my cravings were crazy too. but I loved and still do love me some chickfila sweet tea...started when I was preggo with B and STILL have to get one at least 2 times a week. Last week when the boys were sick I bought a gallon to keep me happy while locked at home.
