Bumpit

Am I the only one that thinks the Bumpit is hilarious? Both in name and in concept!?!

I am probably super late hopping on to the latest hairstyle bus, but I didn't even know such a thing existed. I guess I am an old-school tease and spray girl , that is when I change up my hair (which is rarely) for say...a big night out on the town in the suburbs. (To be honest, hairspray kinda scares me)

I see a lot of girls sporting this look, and I guess I just always assumed they had a ton-o-hair or were teasing the heck out of it.

Who knew it was a Bumpit?!?!

Random Question

So, I am not sure how many gals (i know there are no admitted men readers) read my blog that aren't mamas yet.

But here is my question: have any of you ever felt crazy pressure/need to claim a name? like there could possibly become a shortage of viable names...i know, i am a bit neurotic.

There is seriously something in the water and it seems as though a million and one gal pals of mine are preggo....so of course they are snagging some oh-so-cute, some original and some more common baby names. BUT, i also have a few (not a lot, to be honest) friends who are neither expecting nor "trying" and already have reserved girl and boy names.

Is it odd that this sort of freaks me out?

Amarillo By Mornin'...up from San Antone Dallas Love

This past weekend we hopped on plane and headed to Amarillo to celebrate a very special 80th birthday... Mee Maw's (my dad's mom).

It was a quick but great trip to the good 'ole Texas Panhandle :).

Anisa (couisin) and Sheila (aunt) coordinated the whole evening and it was wonderful!

We had a deelish dinner at Napoli's in downtown, noshing on some mighty tasty Italian fare while enjoying a chance to catch up with family members we don't get to see nearly often enough.

After dinner we headed back to my grandparents' house for more visiting and catch-up time. PaPaw captured Mabry's attention the entire time with his array of gadgets, toys, and tricks. She was loving every minute of it.

The trip it was a great time, spent celebrating our MeeMaw and the 80 years that she has made wonderful memories and a lasting impact on those near and dear...her family and friends.

We love you MeeMaw. Here's to many more birthdays celebrating YOU!

Take the plunge

Definition:
Take the plunge: to begin an unfamiliar venture, especially after hesitating.

Can you use it in a sentence please?
They've decided to take the plunge, and put their house up for sale*.

*Please note the terrible timing of quite possibly the toughest times in this nation's residential real estate market's history ( I know, I know, the 80's were bad, too, but hey, I was less than 4 years old and don't remember).

Jordan and I are feeling confident about our decision. We truly are trusting that God knows the road ahead and also knows of the bumps and curves we'll entail, but that as always, He will see us through.

So yes folks, we are taking the plunge. But, no folks, we're not alone. Sighhh....what a peaceful way to jump if ya hafta jump on in!

Wish us luck peace!

p.s...we do have a real sign in our yard folks. i just scribbled through all of the contact info, ya know, for privacy's sake.

p.p.s...i am the listing agent and owner selling my own house! yes, i'm pretty sure I.AM.NUTS!!

I don't read...

...unless I am on vacation...and even then I often times opt for a good People or Southern Living read. I just don't usually have the patience ( i know, shocker. me, lacking patience? never!)

This vacation was to be different, though.
My mom asked me before we left for Gulf Shores if I had any good summer books that I was planning to dive into. "Nahh, not really. I just never take or make the time. I know, I know, I'm pathetic ."
She offered to bring one she thought would be up my alley and said, "No hurt feelings if it's not your thing, but I'll bring it along for ya." Mom and Dad were the Griswolds, afterall.

Lo and behold, mom had me tagged...she brought and I read (read: bookworm deluxe) and FELL.IN.LOVE. with James Patterson's The Women's Murder series.

Lots of suspense, plenty of humor, a tad bit o' romance. Now that's my kind of book!

I finished 1st To Die early into the vacation (lamenting I didn't have the next one with me to start reading)
Jumped into 2nd Chance the night we got back and just finished it up last night.
Now I'm on to 3rd Degree, and cannot wait to see what Ms. Lindsey Boxer has in store for herself this time around.

I know most of you all are probably avid readers and have heard of James Patterson a million gazillion times and this Women's Murder Club Series, too. But for me, I am glad to have been introduced (shout out, Mama) to this little series and wanted to share my latest obsession with all you readers...you know, all 3 of you :). Wink, wink.
