When You Wish Upon a Star...

This past week Jordo and I headed to the The Happiest Place on Earth...Disney World!

We had a great, great time!

Jordan and his family had work stuff in Orlando, so we decided to make a family affair of it and head out early to take in the parks and have some fun. And fun we had!

I supposed I was enjoying myself so much that I failed miserably at documenting the trip with photos. I took 3 pics. Terrible, I know!

It had been 13 years since I'd been to Disney, so this time it was like seeing things with an new set of eyes. I loved being there with our neice and nephews and getting to watch their faces as they, too, took in everything. The two eldest, Peyton and Laurel, had been before, but at younger ages where their memories were...ahem...non-existent. So, needless to say, all 3 of them were loving the semi-newness of every park, every ride, every show.

We did Animal Kingdom and Epcot the first day. Whew! I mean, I can run long distances with the best of them, but man, oh, man, that walking just about killed me! Glad I went for comfort over fashion donning my running shoes the whole time. I don't know if I would have made it otherwies :).

The following day was spent at Hollywood Studios (previously known as MGM Studios). It was SO much fun! The Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror were my kinda rides!

We visited The Magic Kingdom the following day. No matter how old I get, this Park with always be my favorite. I love the nostalgia of it all. It's a Small World, The Teacups, etc... One slight glitch though, Space Mountain was CLOSED for repairts, much to our dismay, sadness, devistation, disappointment. Okay, okay, I know, you get the picture, but man, were we bummed! We DID however, manage to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad time and again. It's an oldie but a goodie, for sure!

Afer some repeat park visits the rest of the time, the last day we headed to Downtown Disney. That place is great for adults (Pleasure Island) and kids. They have a Lego store to.die.for. Every kind of Lego and accessory you can imagine. And this place called the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (cue Cinderella song) where girls can go get hair and makeup done up and put on Princess clothes! The restaurants in Downtown Disney are yum, yum, yum, too! No cafeteria lines, chicken nuggets or fries here folks. It was a welcome change :).

All in all, we had a great time, lucked out on the weather (it was super hot but no rain) and were met with minial crowds at each park.

Jordan and I were both talking about how much fun it will be to go back with our own kiddos someday!

M-I-C- see ya real soon! K-E-Y- why? because we like you! M-O-U-S-E...

I LOVE Disney World! So jealous of your trip! We went Christmas 2007 and it had been 13 years for me too. Thanks for letting me re-live it in your post!
