A United House

To my beloved Sisters who I esteem so highly and consistently find to be part of the solution to our problems in the Church rather than the cause.

Please join me in praying for our President-elect Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and his precious daughters, Sasha and Malia. Go with me before the Throne of our sovereign God and ask Him to grant wisdom from above to President-elect Obama and the indwelling presence and power of Jesus Christ. In the words of the Apostle Paul, "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior..."

Please also join me in the active and deliberate pursuit of unity and purity in the Body of Christ at this historical time in our country. I implore you in Jesus Name to have zero tolerance for prejudice whether it is regarding party-affiliation, color (whether you are Black, White, or Brown), economics or the like. Disagreement is not sin. Prejudice is. Satan has plotted events and planted attitudes that, should he be successful, will result in havoc. We must not stand for his schemes or cooperate in a single way. We would severely displease God and invite untold chastisement upon Christ's Church in our nation. Speak clearly to your children and graciously but emphatically draw a line in your work places and social circles regarding your stand against prejudice of any kind.

"Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.'" (Matthew 12:25) A united house stands. A divided house falls. The devil has much to gain. But he also has much to lose.

We are the Body of Jesus Christ and we have an opportunity to show His character. This is our watch. We stand for what is right not from our feet but from our knees.

I humble myself before you and make these pleas under such bold direction of God that I could not resist it nor disobey it. He made it a fire in my bones.

I love and esteem you so much. Shoulder to shoulder, Dear Sisters. Let's leave not one inch for the enemy to come between us.

We headed to Waco Friday afternoon just in time to see Mabry, I mean, Shawn Johnson make her big Trick or Treating debut....

BAYLOR HOMECOMING 2008

Saturday morning we were all up bright and early and out the door to the

Baylor Homecoming Parade.

Please note that this is my 26th BU Homecoming Parade (well maybe my 27th if you count in-utero). I missed a parade a few years back, but other than that, I have a near flawless attendance record.

After the parade we grabbed lunch before heading to the big game,

Baylor vs. Missouri.

Once we got to the game we stopped at the George's Tent for a little pre-game social hour. It was SO much fun running into familiar faces. I missed a few folks, but loved catching up with those we did get to see.

Okay, so I totally slacked in the photo department at the George's Tent and game. I guess I was having too much fun visiting with everyone!!!

Homecoming this year was so fun getting to chat it up with fellow bloggers and discovering a few, newly admitted blog-stalkers, too. PLEASE start commenting folks, so I can know who you are, sweet readers :).

Halloween and Homecoming were a wonderful time this year! I am so thankful for weekends with dear family and great friends. I can't wait 'til next year!!!

Trick or Treat...

There was no trick in this treat. This past Saturday

Ash, Scott and Mabry

drove up for a day at the Pumpkin Patch. What a treat!

Pretty much since she was 18 months old Mabry has had this thing for tractors. She loves 'em...so today was particularly great in the John Deere department. I mean, come on', mini tractors and the 'real deal' big ones all in one place with all access granted...too fun!!!

Hmm...which one shall I choose?

Tractors big and small, pumpkins short and tall, bales of hay for fun tumbles and falls...

This year at the Pumpkin Patch was an absolute ball!!!

Girls' Night Out

This past Saturday was Jenn's Surprise Bachelorette Party!
The plan worked out perfectly since most of the husbands of the gals at our shindig were on their own Boys' golf weekend.

We all met at the The Harbor at Rockwall to surprise Miss Jenn. She thought she was going for a walk with her fiance, but nope, much to her surprise there was a boat full of friends waiting to celebrate her!
We set sail on this really neat catamaran for a sunset cruise. The weather was uhhhmazing. We celebrated with champagne and snacks and had the best time.

Next, we headed over to Gloria's for a delicious dinner. Kudos to Amy and Kristen for their impeccable planning. The catamaran was docked at The Harbor, which was in walking distance to dinner at Gloria's, which sat on the water at The Harbor. Talk about party planning perfection :).



After dinner everyone walked to Jenn's condo (it's also perfectly located on The Harbor) for all of the fun "girlie" stuff that goes along with bachelorette parties.

It was a fun, hilarious time with a great group of girls!
